Maybe he can practice saying entire sentences without using the word. If that's not possible, and it doesn't seem to be, he should listen to the podcast and experience the torture for himself.
He also needs to learn to slow down and not slur his words together. Speaking into a mic for public consumption is a skill he sorely lacks.
