LIVE RICKY ZOOMATHON
Hey thanks for reading this. I'll keep it short. Please read all of it, as it's very important to me and Mike.
Flip The Switch, obviously and unfortunately, is canceled (you'll get a refund). We're still planning on a Fall Live Ricky. But this event was supposed to take the place of the Lottery Party, which means there's a lot of money to be raised for our charities.
So on Sunday, March 29th at noon, we will start a five-hour Rights To Ricky Sanchez charity Zoomathon. A live video stream where we'll have special guests, including all of our great local sponsors (LL on the Ricky!), and a goal to raise $15,000 for the Providence Animal Center and Coded By Kids. We were originally also going to donate to the fund for the Underground Arts workers, but they insisted we do Philabundance instead. We talked about it all on the new Ricky.
We will take straight donations (and have some fun donation challenges) via Venmo (Rights-To-Ricky) and Paypal (spike@rightstorickysanchez.com), have very special merch (this shirt, this poster, this poster, and a 'names on the back' shirt with Covid-19 added), and a Tony Toni Tone EP featuring some very special guests. All info is at this link and at the bottom of this email.
For both Mike and me, this last week and a half has been a good time to reflect on a lot of things. One of the things that we've realized is how special the people are who have been part of what we do for the last seven years. That of course means you. It also means the sponsors who have put their money, time, energy and love into this podcast. We're happy to shine a light on them Sunday. We love them all so much.
And one final word about our charities, and any local, independent charity out there. While their causes are important, and we're passionate about the causes of Providence and Coded, when you support the charities you're basically supporting the people who work there. The people who have decided to work long hours for low pay just because they want to do something that helps others (animals and people) that they care about. Your donations keeps food on tables and people with health care. They're essentially small businesses.
The charities need our help. The businesses need our help. We're all in this together. Be there Sunday or we're not friends.
