We Need Your Help!
July 10th is the five-year anniversary of The Rights To Ricky Sanchez podcast, and we've been thinking for literally minutes on end about how to celebrate. Thankfully, Andrew Unterberger and this guy came up with the idea for the Rights To Ricky Sanchez Process Hall Of Fame. So, that's what we're going to do. So here's where you come in...
Nominate A Person Or (And) Moment For The Process Hall Of Fame
There will be three categories for the Process Hall Of Fame: person, Sixers moment, and Rights To Ricky Sanchez moment (we're very modest). We'll take your nominations for the ballot, then have a fan vote and a Hall Of Fame Committee vote for the winners in all three categories. We'll announce the winners at the end of the summer, and then induct the winners at the Fall Live Ricky (in September or October). Submit your nominations for the Hall Of Fame here.
Summer League Is Here
Spike and Mike talked about the all-time Summer League performance from Furkan Korkmaz on Saturday's pod. They also talked about Zhaire Smith's explosiveness and cutting, Jonah Bolden's... existence, and Landy Shamet's limited action before his sprained ankle that will either turn into a broken foot or a mysterious loss of his jump shot. Listen to the podcast.
"We Want The Collar Fired"
Spike and Mike debated whether Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire" was generally considered terrible or not, but RTRS listener Chris certainly improved it. Check out this FIVE FULL MINUTE remake of the Billy Joel "classic" with all Sixers lyrics titled "We Want The Collar Fired." You'll never be the same. The vocals have that "I'm recording it at home and people might hear me and I don't want to discuss it" quality.
