The Pick Swap Lives
As you may have heard, we'll be inducting the Pick Swap, or as Andrew Unterberger refers to it, the Pickswap into the Process Hall of Fame on September 22nd at the Electric Factory (more on that later). As we lead up to the event, AU is writing a little ditty on each inductee. It's fair to say that this is the most important thing ever written about the Pickswap. Also, if you missed Andrew's piece on fellow inductee Joel Embiid you should definitely go back and check it out. True poetry.
We're Only 10 Days Away From Dario Coming Over
Every year when the Lottery Party sells out, Spike and Mike get emails and tweets asking if there's any possible way to get tickets (there usually isn't). Don't let that happen to you for Live Ricky III (all tickets and info here). It's an all-ages event at the legendary Electric Factory on September 22nd. Dario Saric will join us live on stage, where you'll give him a hero's welcome like you did for Rock and TJ. It will be a moment. We will also have amazing induction speeches for our Process Hall of Fame inductees (don't forget to tweet at Embiid to get him to do his own). We've got a show intro from (not) Bill Simmons too. We'll be opening the show with an amazing live performance of "Imagine (The Process)" from Felicia Ricci. You might remember this great little number from the Lottery Party, originally recorded by Eliza Hardy Jones (it's also in this pod). There are seats this time so you can bring your kids and loved ones.
Jason Concepcion... Not Banned
You may know him as @netw3rk, and from his work on Binge Mode and NBA Desktop on The Ringer. As you may know, there are only really two options at The Ringer; be a guest on the Ricky or be banned. Or in Kevin O'Connor's case, be a guest on the Ricky and then be banned. We had Jason on for an awesome pod where we grilled him about being a Knicks fan, his dog avatar, a possible Sam Hinkie return. And to start the pod Jason decided to grill Mike on...
Mike's New Show
So NBC ordered a script from LeBron James' production company for a comedy TV show based on the life of Ben Simmons. As it turns out, Mike and his partner Patrick were chosen to write this show. Does this mean Mike can ever criticize Ben again? Does it mean Spike has to wear a "shoot it coward!" shirt to even things out? Only time will tell...
Ways To Waste Time At Work
Still time to join Spike and the 31 others on the Rights To Ricky Sanchez team for the Providence Animal Center Bark in The Park. You can walk or run or even walk your dog. The goals are 100 runners and $10,000. Help us get there. You could always listen to Ron's podcast (but not before ours). You could donate a buck or two to Levi from Overbrook's funeral expenses. Or you could finally stop putting it off and help us get to 2,000 five-star ratings on iTunes (we're at 1812).
