This Week In The Pod
We are continuing the climb 2,000 YouTube subscribers. You can watch the Ricky full shows, and then we pull clips just about every day. Subscribe here.
A CELTIC ON THE POD. But a Celtic from North Philly, who played at Penn, and coached at Penn. Assistant Coach from the Celtics Jerome "Pooh" Allen joined Spike and Mike to talk about the bubble, Simmons & Embiid, some Brad Stevens stories and his book When The Alphabet Comes. The book is about him dealing with his very public role in the Varsity Blues scandal. Get Jerome's book here. It's good.
Not throwin a party for some deck chairs! Spike and Mike discuss the new front office additions, the Sixers ineptitude and insistence to not hire a real executive and a reading of Scott O'Neil's 2005 classic, the Rat Race.Â
Congrats to last week's winners of the Stateside/Zo Tweet t-shirts, Tyler, JP, Kelly, Andrew and Lexie. Just remember to open the email every week for your chance to win. This week's winners will be emailed tomorrow!
Oh Yeah,The Sixers
Dinwiddie....Finally..Kinda
So maybe we didn't get THE Dinwiddie, but we got one. Last week Elton Brand and Co added former Pacers executive Peter Dinwiddie as new Executive VP of Basketball Ops & former Magic Director of Prosper Karangwa as VP of Player Personnel. Dinwiddie is taking the title previously held by Alex Rucker who saw his fair share of roster construction criticism during and after the season.Â
Dinwiddie seemed to be very liked by everyone in the Pacers organization and certainly comes with a reputable resume. He worked his way up through the Pacers organization, starting as a ticket sales rep and operated as cap specialist and trade call guru for a small market team that managed to stay fairly competitive in the Eastern Conference Star Wars. I think he'll certainly do fine as EB's new number 2 and hopefully gets past the initial shock of having to run his ideas through 8 other people.Â
Prosper Karangwa was a standout at Siena, then played professionally in Canada and overseas for a bit before starting his own scouting service and eventually moving on to join the Magic's scouting department. When it comes to draft, free agency etc. scouts always make recommendations and that's exactly what they are, not stone cold choices the team has to make so it's a bit more grainy when you try to figure out how good a scout it is. However! he played some point guard in college so if all else fails, he's not too old where he can't lace them up for a few.
Leave it to me to save the best for last. Yesterday the earth shook and it was announced that Chester and Hawk Hill's own, Jameer Nelson would be coming back home to join the Sixers as a scout and assistant GM of the Delaware Blue Coats. C H A M P I O N S H I P.
On the draft:
Truly in the running for MY Guy, Stanford's Tyrell Terry, who supposedly has put on 20 lbs of muscle and grown a full inch since the abrupt end of the college basketball season. Height and weight aside, one thing's for certain, Terry can shoot the shit out of the rock. Off-dribble, Off-movement, stand-still, you name it. He won't get to the rim a ton and he'll need to work on his pick and roll passing but he's got a soft touch and good basketball IQ. Also has quick feet and won't be afraid to use his wingspan to contest shots. As with all the guys I mentioned so far, mock drafts have him all over the place, but interestingly enough, alot of sites think he could be a Celtics target (the fucking irony, I'm aware).Â

This year's virtual Bark In The Bark is Saturday! Make sure we stay first place in donations.
You can donate right here. We'd appreciate it. Or you can still join the team right here, and if you raise $50, you get the sweet shirt to the left thanks to LL Pavorsky and Big Barker Dog Beds.
The Covid era has been tough on everyone, but especially non-profits, and especially ones like Providence that raise so much money with events, that they can't do now. So donate if you can, join and run (or walk or lie) and get the shirt.
The Rest From The Best
The always awesome Mike O'Connor gave did the lord's and front office's work and gave us a trade for every Sixers player (yes, Simmons and Embiid as well) some maybe's and a few hell yea's, but certainly no hell-no's. Brought to you by the great Touchstone Electric Fireplaces (code TTP for 15% off), and our official pet foot, and By Nature Slow Cooked with Superfusion Pet Food (use code RTRS20 at Chewy).
It's here, the motherfucking 2020 ENEMIES OF THE PROCESS, thanks to Andrew Unterberger and members of Team Ricky. AU has never and did not disappoint with this bad boy. I won't give any spoilers but if you've been listening and paying the slightest attention you have a pretty good idea who number 1 is. Brought to you by Kinetic Skateboarding.
Just in case, just in case this weird ass team does some weird ass shit, which it has been very known to do, TU's very own has some words on Daryl Morey and what his addition or someone like him would mean for the direction of the Sixers moving forward. Brought to you by Adam Ksebe, the Process Realtor.
