Oh Yeah,The Sixers
3-1, not too shabby, but they kind of look like the same exact team from last year? Ah, well, in any event, they are what they are until Hames Jarden touches down.
Loved, Liked, Eh - Year End Edition!
Loved:
Joel Embiid
For all intense purposes, the best at what he does and by any stretch of the imagination, the Sixers best player. He looks lighter, healthier and happier so far this season, a stark contrast to last season when he was sharing the floor with Al Horford, who moved up and down the court like he was playing in Timbs. My biggest concern aside from Jo's health was that the post-Hinkie front office would waste his prime, failing year after year to put a competent roster around him. It's still a concern but I feel like the Morey & Doc duo may be the best shot we have at being successful.
Shake
He's a player in this league, no question. It's been awesome to watch his development and watch him earn the trust and respect of his teammates and that of his peers around the league. Excited to see what this season holds for him.
Maxey
Another reason for so much excitement. Doc Rivers has been known to give rookies some leash to do their thing so here's hoping he trusts Tyrese enough to do the same. Regardless, plenty of reason to be optimistic about him moving forward.
Sixers Creative & Graphic Team
Great people who work really fucking hard everyday to put out quality content and who did not skip a beat while performing their jobs in true uncertain times in society and sports.
Liked:
Ben Simmons
He's not a point guard, won't shoot and probably never will be a willing shooter of any sort. However, he continues to be one of the 5 best individual defensive players in the league and puts a ton of pressure on defenses when he's pushing the ball in transition but what he is now is probably what he'll always be and up until this point that talent set does not mesh well with Joel Embiid's. Time will always tell, of course.
Morey & Doc
Had to put this under liked, so they still have something to work for :) I will never in life give this ownership group credit for anything but falling ass backwards into Doc Rivers & Daryl Morey in 2 months span and moving quick enough to get them both on board is admirable. That's it, that's where the praise stops. I'm excited to see what the future holds with these two and how they both evaluate this roster and its strengths and weaknesses from their respective point of views.
Eh:
Matisse
No offense, just vibes and passing the ball like its about to detonate in his hands. He's got so much work to do on that side of the ball that it literally makes you forget that he's useful on defense in spurts. Last season he could hide in the corner but this year, on this team, where a premium has been placed on guys who can create or shoot, he's finding himself having a rough go of it. Blessings to him.
Tobias Harris
Very nice guy, will be a true treasure to the Houston community. <3

This Week In The Pod
Year End Ricky Awards! The guys cover the return of Joel Embiid and a big night from Tobias (Nice guy..But) Harris in a big win over the Raptors, and very ceremoniously leave 2020 in the dust.
The NEW Sixers look reallllly similar to the OLD Sixers, even so much as losing to an inferior opponent on a night that Embiid didn't play. Spike & Mike talk about that, the team's Maxey and Milton bright spots and if we'l spend the whole first half of the season waiting for a Harden trade.
