The Opening Tip
Hello and Happy Thursday, it's the Corner Three!
Â
We got to the All-Star break and only dislike parts of the Sixers and not the entire organization top down. That is progress compared to very recent years and we should be proud of ourselves.Â
Hit It!!
What better to celebrate first place at the All-Star break than Stateside Vodka. You don't even need to be in Philadelphia. Order here at the link, available for order in 44 states. Or maybe order could get their Briney Mary cocktail kit, or their Vodka Mule kit. You better be at least 21, and you better be enjoying responsibly. You can still pick it up curbside in Philly too.
Oh Yeah,The SixersÂ
All-Star break, top of the East, relatively healthy. Biggest win of the year in the biggest game of the year where the MVP candidate dropped 40 and 19 on French Shawn Bradley. Life is great right.Â
Love, Like, Eh (Sixers at the Break edition)
Love
Joel Embiid
Just carrying this team at times on both ends of the court on his sore ankle and back. No one needs the break more than the big fella and outside of the ASG itself, I hope he uses the downtime to recharge and get ready for the final haul.
Ben Simmons
The old Ben, or new Ben depending on how you want to look at it, is here to stay, it seems. He certainly has shaken off the very slow early season start, is healthy and as of this week, is number 2 (Jo is number 1) in our hearts and number 1 on the Defensive Player of the Year Ladder. Extremely well deserved for a guy who takes on the toughest assignments game in and game out with no problem.Â
Tobias Harris
Literally doing the best he can to be that third (sometimes second) guy most nights and has settled in very nicely into the closer role, which these team will value more than anything as the playoff push continues.
Like
Morey taking his time
I can't say I necessarily LOVE it, but I have full faith that he and his team see what we see and I KNOW that he understands the unique situation this team is in with it's best player as a MVP candidate and second best player in the running for DPOY. He's already mentioned that this is definitely a championship or bust season so I'll take him at his word while also understanding that he (this year atleast) has limited assets to work with so every move has to be one that moves the needle positively.Â
Korkmaz & Shake Tandem
They'll need more, alot more, to help keep the second unit afloat, but I'm hopeful out of that whole crew that these two (and sometimes Dwight) will be the most help, atleast until reinforcements arrive.Â
Eh
The other guysÂ
Maxey is very loveable but still so extremely raw and still not efficient or willing enough to shoot the three, as is custom for newcomers to this team and city, Mike Scott has put together a much better string of games of late but still a bit gun shy and Doc just sent Isaiah Joe down to Delaware.Â
2nd Half Schedule
A bunch of back to backs, KILLER west coast trip but outside of that, it measures out as the 6th easiest schedule in the league. That's statistically, who knows what teams will look like after the trade deadline and buyout market takes shape.Â
The rest of the East
Fuck them, it's our year
Road Ahead
8 days off before we embark on an absolute sprint for the finish line. Healthy Joints, Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Lonzo Ball & PJ Tucker. Amen

Get Hydrated, Fool
It's Spike. Alonzo is ok with this, I promise. I'm interrupting the newsletter for an important announcement. We've got a new sponsor. I'll make it quick, but man, it really helped me.
I used to have this annoying problem with cramps in my feed, calves, and occasionally oddly in my abdomen. While I was at work, even in the car or doing the pod. It was because I am terrible at hydrating. I have not had *one* cramp in a month thanks to E-Lyte from Body Bio.
All I do is put a small capful of it in a Spindrift I have in the morning, and one at night, and it does a great job of keeping my electrolytes right and balanced. You don't have to worry about drinking 16 ounces of sugary (or fake sugary) drink. There's nothing unnatural in this stuff (which is why it's a little salty).
Get 20% off E-Lyte or anything at Body Bio with promo code RTRS20 right here at their website. I get the cramps because of running and not hydrating right but this stuff is great for hangovers, or just keeping your body right.
Anyway, Body Bio is #fromhere, just run by a family, and is a supplement company that believes in science, is changing and learning every day, and just wants to make sure you're healthy. Good folks. Mike that runs it is a Ricky guy.Â
Three Emotional Albums
Carl Landry Record Club is our music pod with Spike and Mutlu. Talking about three truly emotional albums this week: Beck's Sea Change, Against Me's White Crosses, and Mac Miller's Circles.

As we all continue to make our ways through a very trying time, now more than ever it's important to remember our most vulnerable. The very great people from Cradles to Crayons have established the Emergency Essentials Fund to provide these items to the children who need them to survive this crisis—while also knowing that vulnerable families are going to need our services more than ever in the coming months. Please consider donating if you are able!
The Rest From The Best
A very weird game that the Sixers probably lose by 30 without Embiid. Here's our guy Sixers Adam with Three Very Normal Things from a wild night.
No weird ass team is complete without it. Say hello to the Weirdest Starting Wing Duo in the NBA. Thank you Andrew Unterberger.
