Sometimes you get lucky, other times you lose 4 players (including your two best) to a weird unannounced but very clear COVID outbreak among the roster. There really is no other way to describe it except the way that my most handsomest hooping son, PG1 himself, Tyrese Maxey does, "The Vibes are immacuate." A 7 man rotation that has seen guys like Maxey, 1st Ballot Hall of Famer Furkan Korkmaz and Mr. 40 boards in 24 hours, Andre Drummond, play 40-44 minutes the past few games with unfortunately no end in sight. Tobias Harris is on the mend, Joel Embiid still has a ways, and we've yet to even hear if Matisse Thybulle is alive.
The guys gave incredibly valiant efforts against the Knicks and Bucks in an early week back to back but just ran out of gas. Ideally, you would have liked to have one of those, considering whats in store for this upcoming schedule but who knows, the way this team is playing together and playing hard for their coach and each other, it's not out of the realm of possibility that they steal one or three.
I'm watching this current roster do what they do and it really hit that maybe Daryl Morey was/is on to something. Maybe you don't trade 25 for role players because you already have role players that already fit and already know the system. On the other hand though, what if the only being offered (atleast until December) is role players? Still one big mess that I'm tired of and can't wait to be over and don't envy Morey or the position he's in because as we say yearly around here, they've gotta do whatever it takes to put a contender around Embiid.
