Sticking to the plan

At the end of the Heat series Joel Embiid and many of the rest of his teammates talked at length about the team in general just not being tough enough physically or mentally when it really needed it and early moves should be a very clear indication that Daryl Morey and front office listened and agreed. Draft night addition of D'Anthony Melton, and Rockets east incoming with the aforementioned Tucker and Danuel House in free agency. Not too shabby for a team that needed to get better and get creative doing so. 

Those are all nice but to be honest, the real story is Daryl Morey finally...finally...finally working the margins and oh baby here come Michael Foster and Trevelin Queen ready to steal my heart. We did it.

There's certainly no perfect formula and you can pick at any of these moves (PJ Tucker will be here till he's 40, actual fact) but for the first time in what seems like forever, it genuinely looks like the Sixers went into this offseason and free agency with a plan and a desire to finally have an identity on both sides of the ball. We'll see how the rest of the summer and any potential trades shake out but I won't fault them for trying at the moment.
