Still a ton of bits and pieces and moves to make during this offseason but it looks like every team and player is in a holding pattern until the KD situation has a resolution, so perfect time to get into my likes and dislikes and furthermores!
Like
-The front office (seemingly) had a plan and stuck to it and more importantly, it was clear that said plan was discussed at length and signed off on by the team's best player, wedding partier of the year, Jo Jo Embiid.
-This is the first summer that Embiid has publicly atleast, made his roster desires known to the team, a good sign that he's evolving in his leadership role and more importantly, feels close enough professionally and personally to Daryl Morey to speak up.
-Embiid and James Harden have hung out, alot, and I know in the grand scheme it may not mean much but look, this is, depth-wise, about to be the best roster Embiid has ever had around him, and the first time since Jimmy Butler that he actually enjoys playing with and talking to the second best player on the team. For a guy who has rarely had consistency around him that absolutely means something.
Dislikes
This is unfair considering there's still time to do something but I think the Matisse Thybulle experiment has run its course. Not going to beat a dead horse that can't shoot or barely dribble but in a summer where you're upgrading and getting creative, would be great to look for a more offensive notch on the belt.
Doc is still here and honestly, whatever, I guess if you can't fire him the next best thing is building a team so good that it saves him from himself.
What Else?
I don't think the moves are done but the next one or two might not happen until we get closer to training camp and I'd expect they involve another shooting wing and/or ballhandler.
