Someone asked me toward the end of the Final Lottery Party, "when you and Mike started, did you ever think it could be this?" I'd have to be a pretty insane person to even imagine what "this" is. I mean, people are donating $5 to take pictures with my dog (again).
When that shot bounced, bounced, bounced, bounced, and went in on Sunday night, I was not only sad about the Sixers season ending that way, I was worried for the Lottery Party. That it would take the energy out of everything. That the last one would have a stain on it because we couldn't emotionally recover. It's pretty clear, I was wrong.

The Final Lottery Party was everything I could have hoped. There are a million moments that I can point to as my favorite, but none really reflect the hilarious unspoken group-think like the on-the-fly decision to cheer like we won the championship when the Knicks and Lakers did not get the #1 pick. Amazing. Hilarious, stupid, magic.
Thank you. Thanks for the kind words, the hugs, for showing up and showing out, for supporting our sponsors and our charities, for being so smart, funny, and kind, and for helping us build this... thing.

Nowhere in sports, in the history of sports and sports fandom has there ever been anything like this. I will always hold it in the highest esteem with overwhelming pride. I'm glad we're all in this together.
The Lottery Party is over, but the ride is not. I can promise you more stupid events as long as you'll keep coming.
